Head Instructor:

Gordon Hansen has 41 years of experience in the martial arts.  He currently holds a 6th degree black belt (roku dan) in the Okinawan style of karate Shorin Ryu Matsumura Seito. 

Gordon was fortunate to be instructed by Master Fusei Kise and Master Hohan Soken, now passed on.  Master Fusei Kise holds a tenth degree in both karate and kobudo (weapons).

 

Experience:

Gordon began formal training under Master Kise in 1968 on Okinawa.

Gordon and Shirley, his wife, taught children and adult classes at various locations on Okinawa from 1970-1972

Gordon taught classes at Kelly Air Force Base 1972-1973

Opened Shorin Ryu Matsumura Seito School of Karate in Klamath Falls Oregon 1974  (Renamed to Karate Do and later to Mountain Warrior School of Karate). 

Gordon and Shirley taught karate classes for Oregon Institute of Technology from 1975-1979

Suspended teaching while obtaining a degree in Manufacturing Engineering from OIT

Moved to Seattle area to work for Boeing as a Manufacturing Engineer and Project Manager.

Returned to Klamath Falls in 2007 and reopened the Mountain Warrior School of Karate in 2008.

Gordon and Shirley have placed in the top 3 in many tournaments both on Okinawa and in the Pacific Northwest over the years.
